America: My Beloved Country

America, my beloved country
From the early days
In which you sought liberty
Coming from afar for freedom
To express your spirituality
Outnumbered and a minority
In the eyes of the nations internationally
Nevertheless you fought for humanity
First your own sacred freedoms
Than those of others
Not denying sisters and brothers
Though your past be not perfect
Considering crimes
Against Indian natives and Africans
From whom you stripped land
And forced to toil the land
Progressively you awakened
To that which is right
To illuminate your dark past
And turn it bright
Redefining and enlarging freedom
To encompass all
That morally you might stand tall
Move your message throughout the earth
And to freedom globally give birth
Though your fight for freedom
Sometimes has seemed useless
Considering the many nations
That resist and oppose us
Nevertheless you forge on
Pioneering a new path
A path of peace
Providing divine release
From dictators and oppressors
Thanks to your intervention
Many freed peoples are greatful debtors
And we their liberators no lesser
For in liberating others
We have further liberated ourselves
In being a blessing abroad
We have been blessed at home
Countless blessings to us God has shown
Nevertheless often our eyes and hearts
From Him continually roam
Lusting for other things
Seeking to make our own name great
Yet our greatness
Is not in our independence
But rather in our dependence
Historically when we were outnumbered
By the British army three to one
We stood our ground
We did not run
We bowed before we stood
We bowed the knee
To humbly beseech God above
For our liberty
Earnestly we prayed
Vigilantly we fought
And with the help of heaven
And a Jewish banker
Armaments we got
Which we used only for protection
To push back the oppressor
Our first act of Congress
Was a two-and-a-half our prayer meeting
In which all gave thanks to the Creator
For our enemy's defeating
The signers of the declaration of independence
Two-thirds graduates from Biblical seminaries
Such men in government
Prayerfully and wisely secured our liberties
Today however we resist and remove God
From our public institutions
Treating Him with disrespect
As if we never knew Him
Such poor treatment and disdain
Brings the Lord of glory great pain
How long will we run
From He who sits on high?
From He who tells the truth
And does not lie?
The wisdom and leaders of this age
It is they who have lied
Tried to rewrite and reinterpret
Our constitution
Deviating from our divine foundation
Thinking to alter our nation
I warn all who read this text
That if we remain silent
And settle for less
Less we shall receive
Less than God's best
And only through time
Will we awake and learn
That our wicked hearts
Have caused us to turn
Thinking we don't need God
This erroneous thought
Will surely cause
Our great nation to rot.
